Jessica Houk

Contract Analyst

Jessica considers herself a rather simple human being, with a straightforward life, and uncomplicated hobbies to surround herself with. Though, she is far from simple. She loves her two dogs, Dixie, and Banjo (perhaps more than her husband, but don’t tell him that). She enjoys teaching dance to young children, and painfully watching her and her husband’s beloved Steelers.

Jessica always saw herself being a veterinarian until she realized that she would have to go to medical school for animals (which she wasn’t fond of). She lives in the country with her husband Sam, two dogs, a bunch of chickens, and a family of guineafowl (if you aren’t familiar with guineafowl, a google search might be enlightening).

Most of Jessica’s time until this year was spent as a dedicated student. A great one at that. She recently graduated from Law School at Drake. While in Law School, she found this piece of advice she received to be invaluable to her success: “If fear is the problem, then knowledge is the answer” - Anonymous.

She loves to travel, although she has never been abroad, she dreams of visiting Iceland. Having written a 10-page, single spaced paper about the country, she can tell you loads about what Iceland has to offer. Maybe even some of the boring stuff too…

Jessica grew up a dancer, so naturally, teaching young kiddos how to dance is right up her alley. Even despite the occasional need to clean up unexpected accidents the children make. Reading is her favorite past time, especially when it comes to crime novels. So, if you need any recommendations on crime novels, you know who to ask. She can juggle, execute the pointe technique, and she needs her personal space - especially in the line at HuHot. Newsflash people: standing 6 inches from her will not make the cooks work any faster.
