IMPACTFUL CHANGES TO YOUR UPCOMING SOLARWINDS RENEWALS

Do you have a Solarwinds contract coming up for renewal in 2025 or 2026? Are you budgeted for the increase?

Solarwinds removed the option for perpetual licenses starting August 1, 2025, which includes the option to renew your existing licenses. That means that the annual maintenance you’ve been paying for is now going to subscription licensing that’s typically costing Solarwinds’ existing customers 3-4+ times their current annual cost. Plus, say goodbye to annual renewals. Solarwinds wants 3-year commitments while not providing the financial incentive to do so. We’re seeing approximately 10+% annual increases included in each year of the multi-year renewal structure, which they can do because they aren’t giving you a shorter renewal option.

On top of that, they updated their standard online terms in September of 2025, which includes changes that can directly (and retroactively) affect your business. This includes increasing the notice requirement for non-renewals, potentially giving you less time than before, or in some cases, no time because it’s already expired. You may not be aware of any of these changes in your contract with Solarwinds because they have click-through terms on their website that they can update at any time. Which means your legal, risk, or security teams might not be aware of changes that may concern them either.

We have several Clients that have gone or are going through this, and the main thing we’ve learned: The situation isn’t hopeless.  We strongly recommend that you have your agreement/situation reviewed by someone with current Solarwinds knowledge and experience. We can be that someone. Contact Us or give us a call at (515) 314-7442.

We care about your relationships with your vendors. Let us help ensure your vendors care about you.
